Cooler than Brad Fallon - Jason Hennessey

Is there anyone on earth cooler than Brad Fallon?  Google refers to Brad as not only the Coolest Guy (With Authority) but also the Coolest Guy on the planet.  As his chief of staff,  I thought it would be a “cool” experiment to try and rank for Cooler than Brad Fallon.

Why do I want to be Cooler than Brad Fallon?

Although new to the SEO and Internet Marketing community, I have learned that EVERYONE wants to be cooler than Brad Fallon.  This includes Jonathan Leger, Mike Filsaime, Peter Drew, Daniel Molano, and even Aussie James Schramko. While they ALL battle to take the coolest reign away from Brad, I thought I would just go the easy route and officially claim myself  “Cooler than Brad Fallon”.  So there I said it….Today on September 6th, 2009 — 3 days before one of the BIGGEST internet marketing launches on the planet (Stomper999) – I Jason Hennessey consider myself Cooler than Brad Fallon.

What makes me Cooler than Brad Fallon?

  • I grew up on Long Island, New York – Not only is New York the coolest city on the planet, but we also have the coolest pizza, coolest bagels, coolest language, and coolest people.  So Mike Filsaime must be a pretty cool guy himself.   As a matter of fact I went drinking with him in Atlanta during Live 8 – he is REALLY cool.
  • In 1996 after graduating from High School, I joined the coolest military branch – The United States Air Force.  They even shipped me out to the 2nd coolest city on the Planet – Las Vegas, NV.
  • After 4 years serving active duty, I started one of the coolest business’s on the planet – A Mobile DJ Entertainment company.  Would you believe people actually paid me to bring my coolness to their parties.
  • Then to Top that – I was hired as a Radio Personality in Las Vegas, and for 8 years my COOL personality would broadcast to over 5 Million people every night – as I played the coolest genre of music “The 80’s”

  • In 1999 I married the coolest & prettiest wife on the planet, Bridget Hennessey and we have been married for over 11 years.

So as you can see my life has been pretty cool so far.  And although I may be cooler than Brad Fallon, Brad is BY FAR the smartest guy on the planet.  he he :) — I can see the Google Bomb contest beginning already.

For over 8 months I had had the chance to work side by side with Brad, and I can honestly say I have learned FAR more then they can EVER teach you in a classroom environment in college.  He owns the coolest company on the planet – StomperNet — and in exactly 3 days from today on September 9th, 2009 at precisely 9:09 am (EST) — Internet Marketing will Change Forever.

Dominating the Wedding Niche One Keyword at a time….

August 1st, 2009

WOW – What a crazy summer it has been here in Dacula, GA.  Soo many positive things happening in such a short period of time.   Where do I start??

Well lets start with the BIG news ….earlier this week my business partner Brad Fallon acquired 100% of StomperNet.  For those of you who don’t know what StomperNet is –basically it it the World’s LARGEST Internet Marketing / SEO training community.  With a faculty consisting of industry experts such as Dan Thies, Leslie Rohde, and Jerry West (Original Pioneers of SEO) –this is a MUST HAVE membership for ALL small business owners with a web presence.

Without StomperNet, I personally wouldn’t have had 1/4 the success on the search engines.  Don’t get me wrong — StomperNet DOES NOT do the work for you — however — they do publish an unlimited amount of GREAT CONTENT for you to learn and apply to your specific niche.  I can personally GUARANTEE – If you follow the step by step online video tutorials,  tips and suggestions — You will DOMINATE the search engines…

I’ am living proof – (now pay close attention)

On March 16th 2009, I took over the SEO Strategy for 1WeddingSource.com.  Beginning with only 216 back links, 0 Page Rank,  2.5 Million Alexa Rank and absolutely NO Google presence (in a EXTREMELY competitive industry) — I accepted the challenge that lied ahead of me.

I purchased EVERY SEO book I could find, participated in EVERY SEO forum on the web, and even attended live SEO conferences, webinars and meet-ups.  Exactly 4 months to the day (July 16th 2009) – I now had 13,000 back links, Google Page Rank of 5, 82,000 Alexa Rank AND was ranking on the 1st Page of Google for the following highly competitive keywords:

Wedding: (Single Word Keyword) — 229,000,000 Competition

Wedding Planning 30,600,000 Competition

Wedding Favors 6,200,000 Competition

Wedding Songs 36,800,000 Competition

Not to mention 20,000+ Long Tail Keywords…

You can imagine the amount of traffic 1WeddingSource.com receives…

The books, webinars, and forum’s helped a great deal….however it was the BEHIND THE SCENES conversations & shared tactics by industry Gurus such as Brad Fallon, Dan Thies, & James Schramko which helped me DOMINATE my niche in only 4 Months.  I’m taking about specific link strategies which took a non indexed page and got it to rank on the 1st Page of GOOGLE for the Single Keyword Wedding!!  In the world of SEO the proof is in the BITE – not the BARK!! Many Experts claim that they can get you on Page 1 — but there are VERY FEW who can actually prove it!!  I can –Thanks to Brad Fallon and the StomperNet Faculty.

Now the GREAT news!!

You too can share in the same success that I have had.

Wedding Marketing Expert Shares Some Copywriting Tips.

April 23rd, 2009

We all know that with proper search engine optimization, we can climb the rankings of Google and get traffic to our website.  We do this by keeping our page updated with fresh content and building quality backlinks that point back to our website.  However, just getting traffic to the website is not the end of the battle.  Once we get visitors to the website, we need to be able to dictate where they go and what they do once they get on the site.  This can be done with effective copywriting.

effective-copywriting

The most important aspect of copywriting is to first grab the attention of the reader.  You can do this with an attention-grabbing headline.

DON’T RUIN YOUR WEDDING DAY BY MAKING THIS SIMPLE MISTAKE!

This can be done by asking them a question or making an interesting or even shocking statement.  Whether or not the person reads the rest of your website is based upon how interesting your headline was.  If you choose the route of making an unbelievable or controversial claim to grab their attention, then the first part of your article should be proof for your claim.  You can use written proof or a picture.  Also, to keep your website search engine optimized, it is also important to put your keywords in the title, if possible, but you already knew that, right?  Also, people love statistics.  If you are able to feed them some statistical evidence regarding the success of your product, that will help out a great deal.

When you get to the body of the article, you want to keep your sentences as short and concise as possible.  If your sentences read easily and are easily understood, there is a much greater chance that your reader will continue reading.  If there is any part of the article that could cause someone to be confused, either clear up that part of the article or take it out completely.  If you cause your reader to be confused, they will most likely leave your website.

Another good method to get your viewers to continue reading your website is to tell an interesting story.  Stories are likely to draw emotional reactions from your readers and get them to trust you more.  Also, it is easy to transition from a story to your sales pitch.  If you are unable to tell a story, you can instead use amazing facts.  http://www.thisistrue.com is a great website on the Internet to find unbelievable facts that will suck in your reader.  One of the best ways to go about copy writing is to draw them in with an entertaining story and them transition into some interesting facts.  After you give them the interesting facts, you can then move into your sales pitch or tell them a little bit about what you have to offer them.

While you are writing the article, try to be aware of any kind of question or concern that could come up for the reader.  If you are able to anticipate these questions, it will go a long way in keeping the reader glued to your content.  It helps avoid any confusion that might come up for the reader.  Also, when you are telling the reader about your product or service, make sure to stress how important the information is.  If you can make them believe that the product you are offering is a life-changing product, they will be more likely to want more information about it, which leads to them purchasing your product.

Try not to make your sales copy too formal.  People like articles that are written in a personal manner.  Keep it very conversational.  Address your reader as “you” as often as you can.  Also statements such as, “I was devastated by the terrible services provided by my wedding DJ and I’m sure you would feel just as awful if you were in my position.”

Add some sub-headlines to your page.  You want these to be just as catchy as your headline.  When you add sub-headlines to your page, people will at least scan down the page and check them out.  Many of the people that do this are the same people that would have simply left your page if you had just plain text all the way down the page.  People do not take well to a lot of reading, it needs to be broken up for them.  Pictures and videos will also keep your reader captivated for the duration of your website.

How do I get more hits on my website?

March 31st, 2009

How do I get more hits on my website?

Well, if you are looking to get more hits to your website, there are many different approaches you can take.  While it is easy to just pay for traffic to your website, not everyone is in a position to do that.  Plus paid traffic can be a very dangerous endeavor if you do not know exactly what you are doing.

Building free traffic to your website takes some time and work.  One of the most important aspects of a website is content.  You need many pages of content on your website, loaded with information.  It is very important that these pages get indexed by Google.  When your page is indexed, people can get to it by doing a Google search on one of your keywords.  A keyword is a term used to retrieve documents in an information system such as a catalog or a search engine.

In order to get indexed on google, you need to have some backlinks pointing to your site.  Backlinks are any link on another side that, when clicked on, will take the user to your website.  One great, free way of getting these is by using social bookmarks.  Digg, Stumble, and Delicious are some great sites where you can social bookmark the pages of your website.  All you need to do is go to their webpage and submit the links to your site.  You also need to submit some keywords and a description to the site.  You will get some short-term traffic just by submitting your website, but the long-term advantage is that your page will climb the pages of google when you submit more and more quality backlinks.

Once you get your page indexed by Google, just keep finding more ways to post links to your site.  You can post them in your signature in forums.  The more links, the better.  This will help you move to the top of the search engine results pages of Google and increase your percentage of quality bridal leads.

What is your single biggest question about Internet Marketing? Survey

March 26th, 2009

Let me begin today’s post with my apology.  Yesterday, when I published the two tutorial videos, I didn’t realize that I had a maximum bandwidth of only 2GB, which caused problems for many of you trying to watch. Sorry!!  I’ am currently working on a better solution for video, and will re-post the first tutorial’s again shortly.  Online Video is essential on today’s world wide web, and you can expect a lot more Video’s posted on my blog.

I also wanted to learn more about YOUR questions and YOUR concerns when it comes to Internet Marketing and SEO with a simple 1 question survey.  Special Thanks to those that have participated.  Your questions and concerns are very important to me, and provides me with new dialog/topics to blog about.   My goal for this blog is to become an open forum to share ideas, case studies, and success among the Wedding Internet Marketing Community. So without further due, here are the results:

Question: What is your single biggest question about Internet Marketing? (I only picked 2o for now)

  1. The Cost
  2. Specifics, specifics, specifics, like location, location, location. You seo guys talk in generalities. Give specifics of what your talking about. We mere mortals don’t understand all the terms in computers and the world of “seo”. The videos I just watched were not very good, very confusing following the pointer. It also didn’t sound like you were very prepared. The videos were short and part 1 ended abruptly and I wasn’t sure what I was suppose to do next. Maybe your on that learning curve yourself.
  3. How can I reach the right Brides through the internet.
  4. Sorry, that’s just too broad a question for me.
  5. How can I reach more people with my message in the most cost efficient way possible?
  6. Finding the right keywords for my field–the DJ business
  7. How do we get to the top of the Search lists?
  8. How can I qualify more good leads?
  9. Our business is a bit different non obvious. I wish i knew what major music act tour managers search for on google when they come to town. Is there a way to find out what people search for when they actually find it?
  10. Interesting blog… keep it up… look forward to reading more.
  11. are there any downsides?
  12. How can I get 1st placement on Google without paying for the privilege?
  13. How can I make major changes to my Home Page without without reducing the effectiveness of the existing SEO – especially with Google?
  14. How do I get more hits for my websites?
  15. Is anyone in the “SEO business” not a crook, a liar, or a blowhard?
  16. What is the best way to beat out competition when marketing in the internet?
  17. I don’t really have any questions because I’m learning from the same people you are. I’m mostly just following along because you are tailoring this to the wedding market which I am a part of. I’d also like your perspective in general and I like the fact that you ran a successful wedding/event business out of Vegas.
  18. What step should I take to get higher SEO position on Google?
  19. What are some immediate steps I could take to get my website to rank higher with Google, Yahoo, ETC.?
  20. I want to know more about Google and how I can be at the top.

These are all GREAT questions and comments.  Everyday I will pick one of these issues and elaborate more on the subject and do my best to answer them in layman’s terms.  Please feel free to add your comments to the bottom of this post, if you have more questions or concerns related to Internet Marketing and SEO.

Best Wishes

Welcome to “YOUR” Wedding Marketing Blog

March 15th, 2009

Notice how I emphasized the word “YOUR”.

Who am I and why should you trust me?

Jason Hennessey SEO expert

Jason Hennessey

I’ am not some great success story, and I never got rich quick. I simply started a local DJ business in Las Vegas, at the young age of 19. My name is Jason Hennessey.  It’s a funny story, and I will try to share it with you quickly.  In 1999, I  had 1 year left in the United States Air Force, and although proud to serve my country, I had no intention of reenlisting.  I wanted to do something that I was more passionate about.  Music was my love.  So I bought some equipment, and started to teach myself how to DJ.  The next thing I noticed, I was playing at friend’s informal parties, school dances, and then the million dollar question came. “Would you like to DJ my sister’s Wedding?” I was taken by surprise, and had SO many unsure questions going through my head.  What if I mess up someone’s name during an announcement?  What if the CD scratches during their first dance?  What if …..??? I was filled with so much uncertainty,  however I  realized that this could be a very large OPPORTUNITY.

The next few weeks were extremely stressful leading up to the big day, but I nailed it.  Compliments, thank you’s, referrals, I said to myself ”this is the world I want to be in!”  What other job would offer a 19 year old the opportunity to go out play music, socialize, eat gourmet meals, all while collecting over $500.00 for 4 hours of work?  It seemed too good to be true.  So to make a long story short, I busted my BUTT building one of the largest DJ, Photo & Videography companies in Las Vegas “The Wedding Capital of the World”.  When I sold the company in 2007, we had over 16 sound systems, 4 full time photographers, and a talented team of video editors.  Not to mention referrals from every major hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Here it comes……Why did you sell a successful business?  Simply because I wanted to spend more time with my beautiful family, and build something that would someday change the way weddings are planned online.  I will get more into that as I continue to blog.  But I promise….I will NEVER try to sell you anything.  This BLOG is strictly for FUN, PROFESSIONAL, and EXPERT advice on how to book more wedding business using the internet.

What are some of the things I will share with you?

Well put it this way.  Through my years of trials and tribulations, I have always found my strength to be networking.  Today, I’ am fortunate to be involved in a business venture with one of the most respected names in Internet Marketing.  As a matter of fact, I moved the entire family across country from the neon lights of Las Vegas to Dacula, GA to be closer to him.   Although the  highlight of my week is now the Waffle House on Saturdays, I now enjoy much more quality family time, and the opportunity to be mentored by an individual who once made $14 Million dollars in 24 hours with a computer and internet connection.

His name is Brad Fallon, a leading seo expert.  Over the past 2 months, I have learned techniques that they just can’t teach you in college, tactics that fortune 500 companies pay him upwards of twenty thousand dollars in professional consulting fees.  I mean the stuff that makes your heads spin, leaving you saying…..”If I only knew this stuff 5 years ago, how much more successful my business would have been today.” And I feel it is a duty of mine to capture the knowledge learned, and share it with the industry that gave me MY opportunity.

If I can just help each and every one of you book one additional wedding this year, then all of this blogging was worth it.  My goal however, is to increase your wedding business by nothing less than 10%.  I have also listed my personal email address on the contact us page.  PLEASE feel free to send me feedback, your questions, or simply pass on a quick hello.  I’m here to help, and will be doing so by blogging on the following internet marketing subjects:

  • Writing educational blog post daily.
  • SEO / on page & off page optimization.
  • Providing links to useful online marketing tools.
  • Teaching you about the Google algorithm.
  • Step by step methods to effectively leverage a blog.
  • Get you more quality inbound wedding related links.
  • Case Studies and Market Research
  • Wedding Treads – and how to stay ahead of the curve
  • Guest Blogger’s
  • Q&A sessions
  • Informational Video’s
  • Webinars
  • Website Reviews
  • And so much more…

So do yourself a favor.  Pick up a marble notebook and a .25 folder; and get ready to INCREASE YOUR WEDDING BOOKINGS. Be sure to log in and check the blog daily.  If you are extremely busy, log in, print the post, and read it when you have an extra 10 minutes at night before going to sleep.  After you have read the post, highlight important elements, and take immediate action the next morning.  You will start to establish greater internet presence, and stay ahead of your competition.  I will try my best to have all new content posted daily by 4:00pm E.S.T .

So, as for a conclusion…  I truly look forward to building one on one relationship with each and every one of you.  The knowledge I have learned in the past and will continue to absorb in the future will be passed on to you via the internet (probably your new best friend).

Best regards
